What Will Dandora Community Park Become Now That The Community Has Spoken?

Neighbors and local leaders of Dandora gathered at Dandora Community Park to view the first physical 3D model of Dandora Community Park Amphitheater; a table-sized replica showing how paths, green corners and play spaces would connect. It was like holding the future park in your hands and the open space buzzed with possibility and excitement. On the designs, there were safe walkways linking different corners, green pockets where trees and flowers softened the ground and play zones designed especially for children. Families could already imagine how it would feel to walk, sit and gather there. But what truly stood out wasn’t just the design it was the community voices asking, challenging, and shaping the park with every idea shared. Parents pictured shaded areas where families could sit together and share conversations. Young people asked for proper football and basketball grounds with marked pitches, level surfaces and stands for supporters, places where energy and talent could thrive. Others spoke about safety, calling for streetlights so women and children could feel secure even after sunset.

Then came the questions, dozens of them, handwritten and heartfelt. Will the washrooms be friendly to people with disabilities? Can we add speed bumps so kids don’t lose their footballs to passing cars? Where will spectators sit during football matches? What about clean water, first aid, and sanitary towels? Can we fence the space to avoid conflict with neighbors? Will there be rules to keep the park safe and welcoming? These weren’t just concerns. They were signs of care. Of ownership. Of a community that’s not waiting for change but building it. Want to see the replica for yourself and get a clearer picture of what’s coming to Dandora? Check out our these Instagram and TikTok posts
