The Design Team recently completed a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) document that will guide how PSN and its partners plan, design and manage community spaces. Every step, from concept to completion, now carries a shared signature — PSN’s and the community’s. The SOPs are designed to make collaboration smoother and accountability stronger. For PSN’s teams, they clarify how decisions are made, ensuring consistency, safety and efficiency across projects in places like Dandora, Kamukunji and Korogocho. For communities, they offer something even more powerful: transparency. Through clear roles, shared approvals and joint sign-offs, communities can now see, track and influence how their public spaces come to life. These procedures ensure that no design is finalized without community input and no project is complete without community approval. They turn co-creation from a concept into a concrete process. PSN’s design and waste management pillars now have one clear path that links creativity to accountability, transforming how partnerships, procurement and project monitoring work together. Beyond systems and checklists, the SOPs reflect PSN’s philosophy: building with, not for. Because true urban transformation is not about perfect plans, but about shared ownership. These new standards ensure that when a park opens or a green corridor is built, it is not just a PSN success… it is a community achievement.
