How PSN Partners with Global Climate Experts to Make Cities Greener & Safer For You

In July 2025, PSN together with UN-Habitat and the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCoM), joined the workshop “From Practice to Science: Inputs for Consideration to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Special Report Cities”, a gathering of climate scientists, urban leaders, and practitioners from across the world. Our shared mission? To make sure the realities of city life; its challenges and local solutions are reflected in the next IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Cities.

One of the most impactful moments came during visits to Korogocho, an informal settlement in Nairobi. Walking through these communities, we saw the creativity, resilience, and determination that thrive despite tough social and environmental conditions. We listened to stories of innovation and local action; proof that solutions often start with the people living the challenges every day.

By sharing these stories, PSN reaffirms its commitment; because greener, safer cities aren’t just a vision. They’re a promise we honor through every partnership, every conversation, and every step taken alongside the communities that inspire us.

Come walk with us.
