The Youth City – Changing Faces Competition 2025 has officially closed its submission phase! Following the vibrant launch, a thorough evaluation process of 32 ambitious proposals from youth teams in Kamukunji, Korogocho, and Dandora, all driven by a shared vision to reclaim and transform their local public spaces. But how many ideas stood out? Stay tuned, because this is only just beginning to unfold…After a meticulous review of the proposals between August 8th and 10th, a panel of judges shortlisted nine dynamic youth teams; three from each Mtaa, who demonstrated not only creativity but also realistic, clear, and feasible proposals. How will these teams take their proposals from paper to the ground, and what unexpected challenges will they overcome along the way? In mid-November, judges will conduct site visits to see the incredible transformations brought to life by these nine dynamic youth teams. They will evaluate the creativity, resourcefulness, and sustainability of each project, looking closely at how well these spaces have been revitalized and maintained. Following these visits, the final winners will be announced; those whose innovative approaches and community impact truly set them apart. Then, in December, an Award ceremony will celebrate the dedication and achievements of these young leaders.
